Rose Makes Forward Move in New Orleans

England’’s Justin Rose climbed 31 places to joint fourth and just three shots off the lead after a third round 65, seven under par, at English Turn Golf and Country Club took him to 14 under par 202 with one round remaining of HP Classic of New Orleans.

Rose, who finished joint seventh in the MCI Heritage a fortnight ago, picked up eight birdies to close the gap on leader American Joe Ogilvie, who shot a 66 for a 17 under par total of 199, as he chases his first US Tour title.

Masters Champion Phil Mickelson and fellow American Charles Howell III lie in joint second place on 15 under par after rounds of 69 and 71 respectively, while European Tour Member Vijay Singh, looking to further close the gap on World Number One Tiger Woods, lies in a six way tie for sixth place on 14 under par and just four shots off the lead.

Due to weather disruptions earlier in the week, the fourth and final round will be played on Monday.
