England's Justin Rose was happy with his performance on the second day of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational despite carding a one over par 71 at Firestone Country Club.
The World Number Eight finally ended a run of 22 straight pars - which began on the ninth hole on Thursday - with his only bogey on the fourth, his 13th hole of the day, before finishing with another five pars to head into the weekend on two under.
While Rose was disappointed not to post a better score, he was pleased with his day's work.
"I actually played really, really well today," he said.
"Once again, I drove the ball phenomenally well to give myself every opportunity to go low.
"I am not seeing the course playing that tough right now, because I am playing really well.
"I just did not get anything out of today. It was kind of frustrating.
"When it gets warm, the ball really travels. There are swirling winds out there, so it is really tough to get it close to the pin.
"I had long wedges in my hand. When you have that, I feel like you should be making birdies."
Rose is among a large group on two under par, including fellow Englishman Lee Westwood and American Jordan Spieth.
He added: "I am in a good position going into the weekend."
