Andre Bossert became the first Swiss golfer to win on the Volvo Tour when after opening rounds of 65 and 67 he received the trophy with bad weather making it impossible to continue play. One behind Mathias Gronberg and Jean Van de Velde with an opening 65 that included eight birdies, Bossert produced a flawless second round with four birdies and no bogeys to take a two shot advantage. He was duly declared the winner after the event was reduced to 36 holes due to torrential rain - the first time this had happened at a PGA European Tour event since 1984.
