The Scandinavian Masters, which takes place at the Arlandastad Golf Course, in Stockholm, Sweden from August 16-19, has been boosted by a new sponsorship partnership, after announcing a deal with Fortune Brands, the company which owns Titleist, FootJoy and Cobra.
Fredrik Nilsmark, Managing Director of the Scandinavian Masters, said: “We are happy to attract the Nordic business industry to be partners to the tournament, but even happier to be connected with leading global companies like Fortune Brands.”
Clarkson Hine, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Fortune Brands, said: “We see partnering with the Scandinavian Masters as an excellent fit for Fortune Brands at a time when we are strengthening our corporate brand and seeking to increase our investment in Sweden.”
He added: “People in Sweden know many of our leading brands, and we're excited that the Scandinavian Masters will help introduce Fortune Brands as the global consumer company behind these successful, growing brands.”
With the deal in place with Fortune Brands, who are also the world's fourth largest producer of premium spirits, the Scandinavian Masters – the biggest annual sports event in Sweden – is already a complete sell-out.
Returning to Sweden as defending champion in August is Scotland's Marc Warren, who captured his maiden European Tour title in 2006 when he beat home favourite Robert Karlsson in a play-off, after the pair had tied on ten under par 278 at Barsebäck Golf and Country Club, Malmo.
