Adam Scott takes a three stroke lead into the final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston, a third round 67 taking him to 15 under par with Janathan Kaye in second place and Darren Clarke and Justin Rose a further shot back just four shots off the pace.
Scott, who claimed his fourth European Tour title when he won the Scandic Carlsberg Scandinavian Masters earlier this month, eagled the par five second hole before adding birdies at the sixth, seventh, tenth and 18th holes, dropping shots at the 11th and 13th.
"I just hope that I come out with the same rhythm as I had the last three days," Scott said.
"Everything seems to be in good shape. There is nothing really I need to go work on, just to stay sharp."
Scott is certainly making the most of his sponsors invitation in his bid to become the second European Tour Member to win in America in successive weeks following Clarke’’s victory on the World Golf Championship – NEC Invitational at Firestone.
The last player to win on a sponsors invitation was David Gossett at the 2001 John Deere Classic.
Clarke remained in the hunt for back-to-back titles with a third round 67 to lie on 202, 11 under par, the same mark as Rose, who carded a 68 and Australian Geoff Ogilvy, who also shot 68.
The Deutsche Bank Championship is the only event on the PGA Tour this season that is scheduled to end on a Monday.
