The Tournament Committee of The European Tour has invited Seve Ballesteros to attend a meeting next week to discuss the five-time Major Champion’s disqualification from the 60th Italian Open Telecom Italia and his subsequent comments.
Mark James, the Committee Chairman, said he hoped the meeting would take place at Wentworth Club, prior to the Volvo PGA Championship, on Wednesday.
After the Tournament Committee met in Hamburg, James commented: “Under the Tour’s code of conduct we have asked Seve to come to Wentworth to meet us. We want to see what he’s thinking and where he’s coming from.”
