Seve Set for Return to Dubai

Seve Ballesteros will join an international all-star line up as he returns to the Dubai Desert Classic on March 2-5.

In 25 years as a professional, Ballesteros has won more than 70 titles worldwide. He has also led Europe to victory as Captain of the Ryder Cup team in 1997 at Valderrama.

In additon to his two Masters titles and three Open Championship titles. He has also won the Spanish Open twice, the French Open four times and the Dutch, Swiss, German and Irish Opens three times each. He has also played in seven European Ryder Cup Teams.

Along the way he established many money records. In 1986 he became the first player to join of the European Tour Millionaires Club and also the first to reach £2 million (1990) and £3 million (1992).

“I am pleased that I will be returning to Dubai. I hope the rough is easier for me this year! It is always a good feeling going back to the city where I have won in the past. It is good to see that Dubai now has a second golf course capable of hosting a world class event to complement the Emirates Golf Club,” commented Ballesteros.

Ballesteros joins other international players such as Americans Justin Leonard and Mark O’’Meara, Scottish stars Colin Montgomerie and Paul Lawrie, England’’s, Lee Westwood and fellow Spaniard Jose Maria Olazabal in what many consider to be one of the best line-ups in the history of the event. There will be over 30 different nationalities represented at the tournament, which gets underway in just three weeks time.
