Singh Leads European Tour Contingent in Arizona

World Number Two Vijay Singh secured up his 11th consecutive top ten finish in a US PGA Tour event as he led an impressive European Tour contingent in the FBR Open at the TPC of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Singh, joint third behind winner Jonathan Kaye, was one of four European Tour Members in the top ten with Sergio Garcia, Retief Goosen and Fredrik Jacobson sharing ninth place.

Singh’’s run of top ten finishes is the longest on the US PGA Tour since Australia’’s Greg Norman finished the 1993 season with seven top tens and started the 1994 season with four more.

Singh’’s run of form, which included two victories, started with his sixth place in the WGC – NEC Invitational. Only Jack Nicklaus has had more consecutive finishes in the top ten on the US PGA Tour, setting the record of 14 in 1977 and also recording 13 in succession in 1973 and 12 in 1971 and 1975.
