India’s Jeev Milkha Singh has been named The European Tour Golfer of the Month for November following a month which saw him win twice, claim the Asian Tour Order of Merit title and finish second on the Japan Golf Tour Order of Merit.
Singh followed his win in the Volvo Masters at Valderrama at the end of the previous month with a third place finish in the UBS Hong Kong Open, a performance that sealed his first Asian Tour Order of Merit title.
His season got even better with back-to-back victories in the Casio World Open and the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup on the Japan Golf Tour which lifted him into the World Top 50 for the first time, a climb from 319th in April.
Renton Laidlaw, commentator for The Golf Channel, said: “Following his win in the Volvo Masters with a run of third, first and first was an outstanding achievement and the month of November undoubtedly belonged to Jeev.”
In addition to Singh, there were several outstanding candidates for The European Tour Golfer of the Month Award, voted for by a panel comprising members of the golfing print, broadcast and television media.
