Three-time Grand Slam champion Sir Andy Murray will bring even more star power to Aberdeenshire this week when he tees it up for the Nexo Championship Celebrity Pro-Am.
The former World Number One, who retired from tennis in 2024 following a remarkable 19-year career, will join his mother and renowned coach Judy Murray, as well as his brother and seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion Jamie Murray, for the inaugural event at Trump International Golf Links on Wednesday August 19.
The highly respected and talented trio will take on the front nine with Race to Dubai leader Patrick Reed, before joining two-time DP World Tour winner Eddie Pepperell down the stretch.
Murray, having spent 41 weeks at the top of the men’s rankings, claimed his first Grand Slam title at the 2012 US Open – the same year he secured a maiden Olympic gold medal in London – before ending Britain’s 77-year wait for a Wimbledon champion the following summer.
The Scot, who also helped seal the 2015 Davis Cup title for Great Britian alongside his brother, then conquered the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club again in 2016, and later won a second gold at the Rio Olympic Games.
Since hanging up the racquet, Murray has made no secret of his love for golf, honing his craft to reach a 0.3 handicap. The 39-year-old has been part of the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am and Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Pro-Am in recent years, and he is now relishing the prospect of teeing it up at Trump International Golf Links.
The Murray family will join a host of sporting stars across rugby, football and curling for Wednesday’s event, with tickets on sale for all the action in Aberdeenshire.
