Spanish Double for Garcia and Fernandez-Castano

European Tour Member Sergio Garcia won the Booz Allen Classic at the Congressional Country Club on the US PGA Tour, a final round of 65 giving the Spaniard a two stroke victory over fellow European Tour Member Adam Scott and Americans Ben Crane and Davis Love III. Garcia stays at Number Six in the Official World Golf Ranking but he narrows the gap on South Africa's Retief Goosen at Number Five, who will be defending his US Open Championship title this week. Meanwhile, at the top, Tiger Woods has returned to the Number One spot.

On The European Tour International Schedule Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano won The KLM Open at Hilversumsche Golf Club in The Netherlands by two strokes from England's Gary Emerson. His final round of 67 gave him victory in only his 16th tournament as a professional and an improvement of 245 places to 176th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

On the Nationwide Tour, Chris Couch won the LaSalle Bank Open by four strokes to climb to World Number 309 while on the European Challenge Tour, Finland’’s Toni Karjalainen won the Thomas Björn Open, presented by Multidata, and now occupies 508th position in the World Ranking.
