GSO Player Announcement 16x9

The trio are in action in the U.S. Open this week, and next month will head to the Rolex Series event at the Renaissance Club alongside stars including World Number One Scottie Scheffler, fellow Major champions Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose and Justin Thomas, defending champion Xander Schauffele, European Ryder Cup stars Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton, PGA TOUR winners Sam Burns, Max Homa, Im Sungjae and Séamus Power and Scotland’s number one, Robert MacIntyre.

Three-time Major winner Spieth will return for his second appearance at Scotland’s National Open after a tied tenth finish on his debut in East Lothian last season led to another top ten at the 150th Open in St Andrews the following week.

The World Number Ten said: “I love the opportunity to play links golf and enjoyed the two weeks in Scotland last summer. I’m looking forward to getting back to the Renaissance Club next month and competing.”

Lowry will be aiming for a third Rolex Series win, to add to his titles in Abu Dhabi in 2019 and Wentworth Club last season, when he tees it up at the Genesis Scottish Open for the first time since 2016.

The 2019 Open Champion said: “I’m pleased to be able to add the Genesis Scottish Open to my schedule this season. The Scottish fans are always very knowledgeable and supportive and I’m looking forward to the week.”

Scott, the 2013 Masters Champion, will also be making a keenly-anticipated return, making his first appearance in the event since 2017.

The Australian last won in Scotland in 2002 at the Diageo Scottish PGA Championship at Gleneagles. He said: “It’s been a few years since I played this event, but I always enjoy coming back to Scotland. I’ve heard a lot about Renaissance Club and it will be great to tee it up next month.”

The Genesis Scottish Open is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, counting on both the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and the FedExCup, and boasts Genesis, the luxury automotive brand from South Korea, as title sponsor. Genesis title-sponsor two tournaments on the PGA TOUR’s 2022-2023 schedule, with Jon Rahm triumphing at the Genesis Invitational at The Riviera Country Club in February.

The Genesis Scottish Open benefits from the continued commitment of the Scottish Government, managed by VisitScotland, and retains its place in golf’s global calendar the week ahead of The Open as part of these agreements through to 2025.
