Sport Relief Donation hits £12,000 from Red Bull Final 5

South Africa’’s Darren Fichardt had a run of three birdies on the last three holes to leave him one shot off the lead at the Volvo PGA Championship. In doing so he helped raise £3,000 for Sport Relief in the Red Bull Final 5 competition.

Joining him on the leading score of three under par was fellow South African Ernie Els, who eagled the 17th and birdied the last hole. Australia’’s Adam Scott completed the triumvirate of winners on the third round with birdies on the 15th, 17th and 18th.

Their efforts mean that Red Bull will be donating a further £3,000 to Sport Relief - £1,000 for every shot under par by the leading players. This takes the total for the tournament to £12,000.

Els is leading the field by two shots for Red Bull’’s jackpot donation to Sport Relief. For every player who betters 10 under par over the Final 5 for the tournament, Red Bull will donate £10,000 to Sport Relief. Els is currently seven under par for the tournament. He will hit the jackpot if he scores four under par or better over the last five holes on Sunday. Darren Clarke, currently at five under par will have to shoot the best Final 5 score of the season to win a bonus donation.
