Stephen Gallacher Wins the dunhill links championship and Reaches World Number 68

Stephen Gallacher of Scotland clinched his first European Tour title with a play-off victory in the dunhill links championship - the celebration of links golf - played over the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns. Gallacher beat Graeme McDowell at the first extra hole at St. Andrews with a birdie three. He climbs 89 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to 68th position while McDowell jumps 28 spots to World Number 63.

Andre Stolz from Australia finished a stroke ahead of three players, Tom Lehman, Tag Ridings and Harrison Frazar, to win the Michelin Championship at Las Vegas, earning his first career title on the US PGA Tour. Stolz moves from last week’’s position of 341 to become this week’’s World Number 136.

Katsumune Imai won the Coca-Cola Tokai Classic on the Japan Golf Tour after a play-off with Kazuhiko Hosokawa. The event was decided over 3 rounds after Saturday’’s play was cancelled due to Typoon 22. Imai is now World Number 205.

This week’’s other winners were Chris Nallen in the Gila River Classic on the Nationwide Tour and Graham Storm in the Attijari Wafa – Tikida Beach Moroccan Classic on the European Challenge Tour.
