Sullivan wins July Shot of the Month

It's been a memorable 18 months for Andy Sullivan. Three wins on Tour, holes in one, a place on the Ryder Cup team and now a Shot of the Month award.

Sullivan's walk-off eagle on the 18th hole at the 100th Open de France received over 60 per cent of the votes from My European Tour fans, beating out competition from Martin Kaymer, Matteo Manassero, Richie Ramsay and Jeev Milkha Singh.

The shot is even more impressive when you consider that the 471 yard hole was the toughest hole on Tour in 2015, outside of the Majors. At this year's Open de France there were 140 bogeys or worse made, compared to just 51 birdies. And of course, one eagle.

“We had 186 to the pin.” Sullivan told us after the round. “My caddie gave me a seven iron to start with as we thought the wind was a little down and then he said it was straight left so hit a soft six iron. I stood up there and hit a high, soft cutting six and it’s landed perfectly and gone in. The noise is incredible around 18 anyway but that roar was pretty special."
