England’s Danny Willett set an early clubhouse target of nine under par in the second round of the Omega European Masters at the picturesque Crans-sur-Sierre.
Willett was six shots adrift of leader Anirban Lahiri following an opening round 69, yet delivered the goods today.
Having begun with an eagle, he added five birdies in a flawless round of 64 to end a stroke ahead of Brooks Koepka and Paul Casey.
Keen to set a tricky mark as an early starter, Koepka – having begun on the tenth – struck four birdies in an outward 31.
The American picked up two further shots coming in, only to end his round on a disappointing note as a bogey meant he settled for 66.
Also on eight under was Lahiri, who is set to tee off at 1:50pm having overcome a twisted knee to prosper yesterday.
