Pádraig Harrington, Tom McKibbin and Séamus Power will strengthen the home charge when they return to the island of Ireland for the Amgen Irish Open from September 9-13.
The Irish trio will join defending champion Rory McIlory and past winner Shane Lowry when a world-class field gathers at Trump International Golf Links Ireland, Doonbeg, for the first time this autumn.
Three-time Major Champion Harrington realised a dream when he won his national open in 2007, the victory being the beginning of a golden run that saw him claim back-to-back Open Championships and the 2008 PGA Championship.
The World Golf Hall of Fame inductee will mark his 31st consecutive appearance at this year’s prestigious event, as well as a return to a venue he had the honour of opening more than two decades ago – Harrington was among the first to play the course in a match against the original designer, Greg Norman, in 2002.
The 54-year-old, who most recently added two Senior Major championships to his list of achievements in 2025, continues to compete at the highest level, finishing 18th at last week’s US PGA Championship, whilst enjoying the game he grew up loving.
“I’m really excited to get back home and play this year’s Amgen Irish Open. It’s a tournament that means a lot to me, and one that I enjoy now more than ever,” said Harrington.
“We love our golf in Ireland, so I have no doubt it will be a special week. The Irish Open is as much about showcasing great golf as it is about creating a festival atmosphere for all to enjoy. I can’t wait to take it all in myself, alongside some of the best fans in the world.
“I am looking forward to getting back to Doonbeg; it was a lot of fun last time I played there and while I haven’t been back since it was re-designed, I’m sure it will be a great tournament venue.”
Northern Ireland’s McKibbin will tee it up for a fifth Amgen Irish Open, having recorded a top 20 finish at last year’s tournament. The 23-year-old, who became the youngest winner from the island of Ireland since McIlroy when he triumphed at the 2023 European Open on what was his 26th start, will hope to continue his climb in County Clare this September.
“The Amgen Irish Open brings a great deal of excitement to Ireland, and I am looking forward to again be part of it,” said McKibbin.
“I know the crowds will make it a great week, and I can’t wait to check out the new course and see what we can achieve.”
Two-time PGA TOUR winner Power, who has become one of Ireland’s most consistent performers on the global stage, will make a seventh appearance in his national open. The Waterford native will be looking to add his name to the distinguished list of Amgen Irish Open champions and claim his maiden DP World Tour title afront of home crowds.
“This week is such a highlight of my year. It has an amazing atmosphere, with fans who get behind you after every shot, and it just keeps getting better year on year with the support of Amgen,” Power said.
“Being based in America, I can’t wait to come back and hopefully create some pretty special memories close to home.”
The Amgen Irish Open once again assumes a key position on the DP World Tour’s Global Schedule as part of the ‘Back 9’, which encompasses nine of the Tour’s most historic tournaments and national opens.
Harrington is part of an esteemed roll of honour to have won Ireland’s national open, which also includes Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Lowry, McIlroy, Colin Montgomerie, José María Olazábal, Jon Rahm, and Sam Torrance.
