The 2010 Ryder Cup venue will once again be in the spotlight in June 2011 when it hosts the 12th edition of The Celtic Manor Wales Open. US Open Champion Graeme McDowell played a central role in both events last year, securing the winning point for Europe in The Ryder Cup after first proving the Twenty Ten Course was to his liking with victory in The Celtic Manor Wales Open, holding off the brilliant challenge of Welshman Rhys Davies. McDowell joined a list of winners that includes Ryder Cup players Paul McGinley, Paul Lawrie, Ian Poulter, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Robert Karlsson.
