The European Tour Sport Relief Challenge, which raised £13,432 when launched at the recent Volvo PGA Championship, continues at The Compass Group English Open at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club on June 6-9. The money will be donated to Sport Relief who are fundraising this year to help children and young people at home in the UK and around the world who are leading unimaginably tough lives.
Birdies and Eagles made by competitors throughout the 72 hole Compass Group English Open will earn £1 and £2 respectively from each company pledging their support. The organisations pledging their support at The Compass Group English Open at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club are:
Callaway
Compass Group
London Print & Design plc
Marriott
Mizuno
The European Tour
The European Tour Sport Relief Challenge will continue at The Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond, Glasgow, from July 11-14.
Sport Relief, launched by Comic Relief and BBC Sport, is uniting the whole of the sporting community behind a campaign that will run up to Saturday July 13 and culminate in a blockbusting night on BBC 1 of sport, entertainment and fundraising.
Ken Schofield, Executive Director of The European Tour, said: “Our Members have always been swift to share their good fortune with those in need, and I know all of them are delighted that each birdie and eagle made is raising money for Sport Relief. We value highly their commitment as we do all who through their own largesse assist the Tour in its unceasing efforts to support charity, and specifically those organisations backing The European Tour Sport Relief Challenge.”
