The BMW PGA Championship is recognised as one of golf’s most sought after titles and the galleries were treated to another enthralling climax last year as Spain’s Miguel Angel Jiménez beat his English Ryder Cup colleague, Oliver Wilson, in a dramatic play-off at Wentworth Club.
For the first time in 2009, extensive television coverage of this great Championship will be shared between BBC Sport and Sky Sports. Sky Sports will broadcast live coverage of the first and second rounds with highlights on the BBC, while BBC Sport will show live coverage of the third and fourth rounds with Sky Sports providing the highlights on their evening Golf Night programme.
Peter Walker, General Manager, Sports Marketing, BMW UK, said: “At a time when the credit crunch is biting hard, we are pleased to announce some pre-Christmas cheer with this outstanding ticket offer for the 2009 BMW PGA Championship. To get up close and personal to these world class players for just £45 for all four days represents tremendous value for money.”
Jamie Birkmyre, Championship Director, The European Tour, said: “The BMW PGA Championship is one of the crown jewels on The European Tour International Schedule and we are delighted to offer the true golfing enthusiast the perfect Christmas present for less than the price of a ticket for a London West End theatre show.”
