Three to Watch: Euram Bank Open

Niklas Regner has enjoyed a consistent start to his Challenge Tour career and will be looking to capatilise on his home soil advantage this week to continue his rise up the Road to Mallorca Rankings. The Austrian currently sits in 41st place on the Rankings after securing a tie for ninth at the Challenge de España followed by a tie for fourth at the Open de Bretagne. The 22-year-old has teed it up in four Challenge Tour events of the season and has made the cut on each occasion.

Germany’s Alexander Knappe currently sits in 30th place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings following a solid if unspectacular start to the season. The German has two previous Challenge Tour wins to his name, first at the Swiss Challenge presented by Association Suisse de Golf in 2016, followed by the Hainan Open, in China, later that year. The 32-year-old finished in a tie for sixth at Challenge de Cádiz and a tie for eighth at the Open de Bretagne and will be looking to return to the winner’s circle for the first time in almost five years this week.

Oliver Bekker

South African Oliver Bekker has been in terrific form this season with five top 20 finishes this year to reach ninth place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings. The South African had a superb start to the 2021 Road to Mallorca season at the Limpopo Championship and secured a tie for 15th place at the Dimension Data Pro-Am. Bekker also produced a solid showing at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge with a tied 11th place finish and most recently at Open de Bretagne in France, finishing in a tie for tenth place. The 36-year-old will be looking to take his impressive form into the Euram Bank Open to get one step closer in picking up his maiden Challenge Tour trophy.
