Great Northern opened for play in 2017, becoming Nicklaus Design’s first golf course in Denmark. Next year’s Danish Golf Championship will be the first professional tournament held at the venue.

It will be the 12th staging of the Danish Golf Championship, formerly known as Made in HimmerLand and Made in Denmark, which has become a popular fixture in the nation’s sporting calendar.

Last year, Marco Penge won his second of three DP World Tour titles on the 2025 Race to Dubai as he went on to end the year second on the season-long Race to Dubai Rankings. The Englishman held his resolve down the stretch as he pipped home favourite, and 2023 champion, Rasmus Højgaard to the title with a nerveless birdie putt at the last.

Flemming Astrup, CEO and Founder of Danish.Golf, Promoters of the Danish Golf Championship, said: “We are of incredibly proud of the continued growth and development of the Danish Golf Championship in recent years, and are very excited to stage the event at Great Northern in 2026.

“We felt it was important to be able to take the event around the country, so to hold the tournament in a fourth different location in consecutive years speaks to the lasting popularity of the event.

“Great Northern is a spectacular course and will be a worthy test for the DP World Tour professionals taking part next August.”

Tickets are available at a discounted Early Bird rate, starting at 50 DKK for Wednesday’s Pro-Am and ranging from 190 – 250 DKK for tournament days. A weekly ‘season pass’ is also available for 490 DKK. Click here to purchase tickets.
