Tim Clark Wins South African Airways Open to Move up to World Number 49

Tim Clark returned home to South Africa and picked up the South African Airways Open title for a second time at the Durban Country Club by a comfortable 6 stroke margin over compatriot Charl Schwartzel and Frenchman Gregory Havret.

Clark moves into the World Top 50 for the first time as he climbs 27 places to Number 49. dunhill championship winner Schwartzel continues his climb up the World Ranking and is now in 144th position and Havret has moved into the World Top 200 in 172nd place.

World Number Two Tiger Woods won the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines GC

San Diego by 3 strokes from Tom Lehman, Luke Donald and Charles Howell III. Woods has narrowed the gap between himself and World Number One Vijay Singh to 1.05 average points.

Former World Number One Lehman makes a return to the World Top 50 and Luke Donald achieves his highest World Ranking of 17. Howell III continues his strong start to 2005 which has seen him climb 25 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to Number 32.
