The tournament at a glance.
The inaugural BMW Masters was held in October 2012 and marked BMW’s first return to Asia since the 2008 BMW Asian Open. The first and second BMW Masters in 2012 and 2013 were a huge success for BMW, presenting partner the SRE Group, and all the partners of the tournament. In 2013 the BMW Masters took on even greater importance for the European Tour when it was announced as the first leg of the European Tour’s new Final Series. This status made the tournament one of the most important events on the players’ schedule and a crucial stepping stone for anyone with aspirations of winning the European Tour Race to Dubai.
