Tournament history
In 2009, the Vivendi Trophy with Severino Ballesteros, listed on the European Tour schedule, took place from 24 to 27 September 2009 at the composite course at Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche, with two experienced captains, selected by the Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie. Denmark's Thomas Björn lead the team from Continental Europe, whilst Irishman Paul McGinley skippered the 10 players from Great Britain & Ireland. Organized by CANAL+ EVENTS, the Vivendi Trophy with Severiano Ballesteros will be played every 2 years, alternately with the Ryder Cup, and will oppose the best players from Continental Europe to the elite from Great Britain and Ireland.
