The 2007 Deutsche Bank Players’ Championship of Europe has confirmed that US PGA Tour winners Charley Hoffman and J. B. Holmes of the USA and South Africa’s Rory Sabbatini will join a host of The European Tour biggest names at Gut Kaden Golf und Land Club from July 26-29.
Sweden’s Robert Karlsson will defend the title, with his fellow countrymen Niclas Fasth and Henrik Stenson joining Paul Casey of England, Retief Goosen of South Africa and Australia’s Nick O’Hern in an outstanding line-up for the Tour’s second of three scheduled visits to Germany in 2007.
“After playing in a few tournaments in the USA in the beginning of the season, I am especially looking forward to the top players of the US PGA Tour challenging us at Gut Kaden!” said Karlsson.
Of course, no German golf tournament would be complete without the country’s most successful player, Bernhard Langer.
Langer returned to top form on the US PGA Tour recently when he narrowly missed out on Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, losing a sudden-death play-off to Sabbatini.
Martin Kaymer, Marcel Siem and Sven Strüver will help to bolster the home challenge in attempting to take the title from defending champion Karlsson.
