The United States held a two stroke lead over Ireland and Germany midway through the final round of the Omega Mission Hills World Cup as four birdies saw Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland close in on the trophy.
Starting the closing foursomes two shots behind overnight leaders Ireland, Kuchar and Woodland got off to a great start with birdies at the first and second before picking up further shots at the sixth and seventh to move to 23 under par through ten holes.
Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell, meanwhile, were level par for the day as birdies at the third and fifth were offset by bogeys at the first and sixth to remain 21 under par at the turn, level with Germany.
