Victorious Kaymer boasts impressive stats

A combination of booming drives and a red-hot putter helped Martin Kaymer win The Barclays Scottish Open, his second title in a week.

The 24 year old German won by two shots at Loch Lomond, ahead of Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano and Raphaël Jacquelin, to follow up his victory the previous weekend in the Open de France ALSTOM.

A glance through the Genworth Financial Statistics show Kaymer had the third longest driving average, after Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy, who tied for eighth and 46th respectively. He averaged 292 yards over the four rounds with 76.8% accuracy, and he boasted equally impressive statistics on the greens.

An average of 27 putts per round over the 72 holes was bettered only by Nick Dougherty, finishing down in 76th, whereas Fernanzez-Castaño was 32nd for the same category, averaging 29 putts per round, and Frenchman Jacquelin was 17th with 28.2 putts.

Kaymer managed to save par each of the three times he found sand over the four rounds, while Fernandez-Castaño only managed to do so once from four.
