The Vierumäki Finnish Challenge will increase the total prize fund on the 2024 Road to Mallorca by €270,000 and brings the number of events to 30.

Last year Finland’s Lauri Ruuska made history by becoming just the fourth player in Challenge Tour history to shoot a round of 59 or better on his way to winning a maiden Challenge Tour victory on home soil. Ruuska became the second homegrown player to win at Vierumäki Resort, following in the footsteps of countryman Kim Koivu who triumphed in 2018.

Jamie Hodges, Challenge Tour Director, said: “We are excited to return to Vierumäki Resort for the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge in August.

“The resort offers one of the finest golfing experiences in Finland and we have thoroughly enjoyed our previous visits here.

“We give special thanks to Jan Ruoho and everyone at Vierumäki Resort for all their help and hospitality and we are looking forward to working with the team again to deliver a memorable event.”

Jan Ruoho, Managing Director at Vierumäki Golf, said: “We are delighted to welcome back the Challenge Tour to Vierumäki Resort for the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge.

“The Challenge Tour has played an important part in our history at Vierumäki Resort and this tournament is crucial for the development of golf in Finland.
