What's in the bag - Charl Schwartzel

Charl Schwartzel produced a master-class at Pretoria Country Club to claim his 11th European Tour title and eighth win in South Africa at the Tshwane Open. The victory came by an eight-shot margin and is Schwartzel’s second of the season following his triumph at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in November.

The former Masters champion led the field in Driving Distance, averaging a whopping 325.9 yards off the tee. Using a Nike, Vapor Fly pro (11°) he hit 57.1 per cent of fairways - the 18th best in field.

Schwartzel’s approach play was very impressive all week, too. Using a set of Nike Vapor Pro Combo’s (3-9 Iron) he hit 79.2 per cent of Greens in Regulation, the best in the field. The South African becomes just the second player to win an event and lead in both Driving Distance and Greens in Regulation (Byeong Hun An at the 2015 BMW PGA Championship).

On the greens Schwartzel averaged 29 putts per round, the 26th best. Using a Nike, Method Origin B1-01 the South African took 1.701 putts per GIR, the 17th best.
