Win a fantastic prize in November's Shot of the Month

Miguel Angel Jiménez’s fantastic fairway wood took the October title and we have another thrilling threesome for our My European Tour fans to choose from in the November Shot of the Month.

It is the penultimate chance for you to vote in 2011, and while it may be too early to have any presents under the tree, you could be getting one through the post in the shape of your very own pair of stylishly personalised spikeless MyJoys.

This month’s competition will be fast and furious so get your entry in before 5pm on the 11thof December to be in with a chance of winning. All you have to do is pick between two classy Kaymer efforts as he romped to his maiden WGC title at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai. Or perhaps you prefer a pressure packed playoff pitch from Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño en route to his first win in three years at the Barclays Singapore Open.

Shot A
Starting five shots back of overnight leader Fredrik Jacobson, Germany’s Martin Kaymer knew he needed a super Sunday if he were to contend for his first World Golf Championship title at the HSBC Champions. However after six straight pars to open his final round this was looking increasingly unlikely, especially when he found the right hand greenside bunker at the seventh. Then, out of nowhere, the World Number Three opened up a wedge and flopped his approach onto the green before watching it roll dead weight into the heart of the cup for the birdie that would light the blue touch paper on his round and cue some tournament winning fireworks.

Shot B
Having got the ball rolling – into the hole – at the seventh, Kaymer all of a sudden seemed like a man possessed, reeling off another four birdies until it looked like the run might come to an end at 13 having found an awkward lie in the right rough at the par four. However, The 2010 Race to Dubai Champion showed the kind of shot making under pressure that has seen him climb to the game’s very summit, firing in a short iron to mere inches to ensure his sixth birdie in a row and confirm his title credentials heading into the final few holes. Three birdies in the final five followed, including at the 18th, making it nine in the last 12 for a 63 and what would  eventually be a comprehensive three shot victory.

Shot C
Having struggled with injury for much of 2011, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño turned his season on its head at the Barclays Singapore Open, triumphing in a Monday play-off over Juvic Pagunsan. Having lead by three heading into the third and final round at the Sentosa GC the Spaniard looked certain of victory with just a few holes to go, but a balky putter and a stunning spurt from Pagunsan set up a play-off. When this could not be completed after another rain delay, both players came back on Monday, and when they could not be separated at the first extra hole, the Spaniard fizzed in a controlled wedge to ten feet at the second which, after Pagunsan had missed, Castaño rolled in to complete his first win since the 2008 British Masters.

The previous winners of The European Tour’s Shot of the Month in 2011 are Paul Casey (January), Alvaro Quiros (February), David Horsey (March), Matteo Manassero (April), Luke Donald (May), Rory McIlroy (June and July), Thomas Björn (August), Michael Hoey (September) and Miguel Angel Jiménez (October).
