With This Win…. Johan Edfors – The Quinn Direct British Masters

With this win Johan Edfors secured his second  European Tour International Schedule victory in his 50th European Tour event and his second victory of the 2006 European Tour International Schedule, following the TCL Classic. He becomes the first multiple winner on The 2006 European Tour International Schedule in 22 events so far this season.

The first Swede to win The Quinn Direct British Masters

Graduated from the 2005 European Tour Qualifying School. Is the first player to record multiple victories in the same season,  the season after graduating from the European Tour Qualifying School since José Maria Olazábal in 1986, who won the 1985 Qualifying School and then went onto win the 1986 Ebel European Masters – Swiss Open and Sanyo Open.

The third European Tour Qualifying School graduate in European tour history, to record multiple victories the next season,  following Gordon Brand Jnr (1982) and Olazábal (1986)

His fourth win as a professional

The 64th Swedish victory in European Tour history

Follows Anders Forsbrand, Jarmo Sandelin, Pierre Fulke, Fredrik Jacobson and Niclas Fasth as   Swedes to record multiple victories in the same season

The 15th different Swede to claim multiple European Tour victories in their career

Fourth Swedish win on The 2006 European Tour International Schedule. They are: Edfors (TCL Classic, The Quinn Direct British Masters), Henrik Stenson (The Commercialbank Qatar Masters) and Niclas Fasth (Andalucia Open de España Valle Romano)

Gains a place in the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational

Gains his biggest European Tour prize of €437,949 (£300,000)
