With This Win… Nick Dougherty – Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

With this win Nick Dougherty secured his second European Tour International Schedule victory in his 185th European Tour event as a professional. It was his first victory since the 2005 Caltex Masters, presented by Carlsberg, Singapore, 2005 – a gap of two years and 249 days. In that time has played 79 European Tour events between victories. In that time has been second four times.

  • This victory beats his best previous performances in 2007 of tied second in the Blue Chip New Zealand Open and Scandinavian Masters

  • Gains his largest European Tour prize of €562,624 (£392,368).
  • Moves over €4 million in European Tour Official Career Earnings.

*Moves to €1,339,000 in The European Tour Order of Merit and into the top 10  from 31st    – his largest single-season earnings, beating the €1,056,4161 he amassed in 2005.

  • Moves to the top of The Ryder Cup European Points List with €621,834 and The Ryder Cup World Points List

  • Becomes the 36th different Englishman to record multiple victories on The European Tour

*Dougherty’s  win  follows Justin Rose (MasterCard Masters), Paul Casey (Abu Dhabi Golf Championship), Graeme Storm (Open de France ALSTOM) and Ross Fisher (The KLM Open) and Lee Westwood (The Quinn Direct British Masters), as English winners on The 2007 European Tour.
