With this win Steve Webster secured his second European Tour International Schedule victory in his 308th European Tour event as a professional. It was his first victory since the 2005 Telecom Italia Open. The Portugal Masters victory beats his previous best performance in 2007 of  tied fifth at The Russian Open Golf Championship.
