With this win Tim Clark secured his third European Tour International Schedule victory in his 28th European Tour event, his seventh win as a professional and his second European Tour victory in 2005 following the South African Airways Open.

The fourth multiple winner on The 2005 European Tour International Schedule, following Ernie Els (Dubal Desert Classic, Qatar Masters and BMW Asian Open), Stephen Dodd (Volvo China Open and Nissan Irish Open) and Miguel Angel Jiménez (Omega Hong Kong Open and The Celtic Manor Wales Open)

The fourth South African victory in The Barclays Scottish Open since 2000, following Ernie Els (2000 and 2003) and Retief Goosen (2001)
