Wood and Clarke confirmed for historic Omega European Masters

Chris Wood and Darren Clarke have been added to the strong field for the 70th Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.

Englishman Wood, who is currently seventh in the Race to Dubai standings having enjoyed a standout season on the European Tour which saw him win the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in May, will be making his sixth appearance at the stunning Swiss mountain location.

Clarke, the 2011 Open champion, will be competing in his 17th Omega European Masters – an event in which the Northern Irishman has enjoyed plenty of success in, having posted six top ten finishes over the years.

Also confirmed among the impressive field will be Masters champion Danny Willett, who currently leads the Race to Dubai, Lee Westwood, who won the event back in 1999, and two-time European Tour winner Matthew Fitzpatrick.

American Bryson DeChambeau and Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who has appeared 26 times in the Omega European Masters, an event he also won in 2010, will add an abundance of charisma to the field assembled for the tournament’s 70th anniversary at the stunning Crans-Montana venue.
