Former Masters Champion Ian Woosnam is one of 120 players chasing 12 spots in The 2007 Open Championship from the International Final Qualifying round at Sunningdale Golf Club on Monday.
Woosnam tees off in the 36 hole examination at 8.05 on the Old Course and 1.05 on the New alongside Ireland’s Gary Murphy while a host of European Tour champions will also be attempting to secure a place in the field at Carnoustie later this month.
England’s Nick Dougherty, who qualified for the US Open at Walton Heath and went on to finish in a share of seventh place at Oakmont, will be seeking a repeat performance at Sunningdale when he partners Challenge Tour Member, Ross McGowan.
A total of 44 European Tour winners are in the field , including Ryder Cup players Barry Lane, Phillip Price, Andrew Coltart, Jarmo Sandelin, Miguel Angel Jiménez and Peter Baker.
