The action on the DP World Tour has all the drama of a TV show, so we imagined what it would be like taking our players back to the golden age of television sitcoms.
To celebrate the history of one of the DP World Tour’s most iconic events, the DP World Tour and Hero Dubai Desert Classic are launching the first Rolex Series tournament of the season with a playful tribute to its 1980s origins.
First played in 1989, the Hero Dubai Desert Classic has long been a cornerstone of the global golf calendar. In a twist on the traditional tournament opener, several of the game’s biggest stars step out of their usual roles and turn their hand to acting.
Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Viktor Hovland and Luke Donald are among those featured, each reimagined as sitcom-style characters in a series of light-hearted vignettes that celebrate their personalities both on and off the course.
The creative marks the start of the new Rolex Series season, as a star-studded field compete in one of golf’s most established and celebrated tournaments, with another chapter to be written in a story that began in the late 1980s.
