The two-time major winner has had another year to remember with a third successful Ryder Cup appearance for Europe to go with June’s emphatic US Open Championship victory at Pinehurst.

Kaymer will be up against Ryder Cup team-mates Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson, defending champion Victor Dubuisson, Jamie Donaldson, Thomas Bjørn, Stephen Gallacher, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter in Turkey.

The 29 year old German competed in last year’s inaugural event, finishing in a share of 25th place at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal in Belek, Antalya.

The World Number 12 is determined to make an impression at this year’s tournament, which takes place from November 13-16, as he seeks a 12th European Tour title.

Kaymer said: “After enjoying my experience in Turkey so much last year, I’ve been looking forward to this event. It’s a beautiful course and a world-class field, and I cannot wait to go back.

“With the Turkish Airlines Open being so close to the climax of The Race to Dubai, this is already a crucial tournament and all of us will be looking to finish the year on a high.”

The 78 players participating will be battling it out for a prize fund of US $7million.

The top 60 players in The Race to Dubai rankings after the Turkish Airlines Open will then move on to the United Arab Emirates for the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, the final tournament on The 2014 European Tour International Schedule.
