The allure of competing across three world-renowned links courses in Scotland has attracted four members of Team Europe at Bethpage Black to travel across the Atlantic Ocean from the United States.

Defending champion Tyrrell Hatton, who won a record third title last year, is joined by countrymen Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick, while Robert MacIntyre will be the subject of great support from the home crowds.

Seven of the top ten on the Race to Dubai Rankings are testing their game over the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, with second-placed Marco Penge the only player teeing it up with multiple DP World Tour wins this season.

As ever, the tournament has drawn an international array of stars, with Fitzpatrick among the Major Champions taking part from six countries.

The 2022 U.S. Open winner is joined by fellow Englishman Danny Willett, Ireland’s Pádraig Harrington, who is trying to equal Hatton’s record as a three-time winner, Germany’s Martin Kaymer, Australia’s Cameron Smith, South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen and American quartet Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson as players to have won Major honours.

From insight into the week’s most-picked players among Fantasy managers, to our ones to watch, we run the rule ahead of Thursday’s deadline to pick your team.

Who are the most picked players?

After securing the half point that sealed Europe's victory at the Ryder Cup, Hatton is the player selected in the most teams (70%).

Countryman and team-mate at Bethpage Fitzpatrick - a fellow former winner at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship - is next in 68% of teams before Robert MacIntyre sits third in 61% of selections.

Tommy Fleetwood - the fouth member of the Ryder Cup quartet in action - and Patrick Reed round out the top five at 54% and 34% respectively.

Who are our ones to watch?

Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.

Favourite - Tommy Fleetwood

It is no surprise to see the four members of the winning European Ryder Cup team teeing it up at the top of the betting markets this week, with Fleetwood having the shortest odds. He was the top points scorer for Luke Donald's team at Bethpage last week, securing four points from a possible five and he only missed out on becoming the first European to finish with a perfect record in a final-hole loss to Justin Thomas in singles. In August, he claimed his first PGA TOUR victory at East Lake when he won the TOUR Championship to secure the PGA TOUR’s season-long championship. His record at the Dunhill Links is incredible, boasting seven top tens since his debut in 2011 and he'd be a popular champion if he can add another chapter of success in a memorable 2025.

Form Horse - Matt Fitzpatrick

In his three starts before the Ryder Cup, where he contributed two-and-a-half points from four matches, the Englishman finished sixth, fifth and fifth. In addition, prior to the FedExCup Play-offs, he enjoyed a run of four top tens on the trot. Two of those results came in links conditions, at the Genesis Scottish Open and in The Open at Royal Portrush respectively. Add that to the fact he won this event in 2023, knows the layouts well with this being his fourth annual visit in a row, and it would come as no surprise to see him be in contention when the field of professionals is whittled down to 60 for the final round over St Andrews' Old Course.

Wild Card - Lucas Bjerregaard

Needing a big result to help his chances of retaining his DP World Tour card for another season, the Dane could be inspired by the memories of his triumph at this event in 2018. The win helped him finish a career-best 11th on the Race to Dubai Rankings, with his other DP World Tour victory coming at the Portugal Masters in 2017. He competed in all four Major Championships in 2019 - the same year he memorably beat Tiger Woods at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. He lost his DP World Tour card in 2022, only to regain it last year via the HotelPlanner Tour. A proven winner, he registered his first top ten of the campaign at the Omega European Masters recently.

Looking back - FedEx Open de France

Making his debut at the FedEx Open de France, Michael Kim may have arrived as a PGA TOUR winner but a relative newcomer to DP World Tour audiences. Birdieing two of his final three holes, the American earned 209 points for just 7.16% of players, with only 81 picking him as their captain.

France's Jeong weon Ko, who finished in a tie for second after a closing 65, racked up the most points last week, rewarding the 622 players who picked him with 212 points.

Both our Favourite Harry Hall and Wild Card Yannik Paul missed the cut, while Form Horse Adrien Saddier finished in a tie for 32nd after a strong opening 36 holes on home soil.
