Won his second European Tour title in 2009 at the European Open at The London Golf Club, beating a field containing 25 of the world’s top 50. His first victory came five years previously, at the 2004 Open de España, and followed a year of injury problems after he fractured his right elbow in a skiing accident in 2002. Played 2003 on a medical exemption and eventually rediscovered his form, finishing a career-best 41st on the 2004 Order of Merit. However, his elbow problems resurfaced in 2012, leading him to end his playing career in 2013. Born on the island of New Caledonia, became world junior champion at 17 and took a scholarship at Stanford University in California, the same as Tom Watson and Tiger Woods. Won his first pro event in becoming the 1993 french Pro Champion and also won the 1998 Finnish Open and the 2000 Finnish Masters thereby finishing 8th in 2000 Challenge Tour Rankings.
