Turned professional in 1994, going on to claim his breakthrough win in the paid ranks on the Sunshine Tour in 1997.

Twice a winner on the order of merit in his homeland; first in the 1999/00 season and then again in 2003/04.

Since making his DP World Tour debut in 1997, he has won five times – the most recent of those at the 2017 Joburg Open, sixteen years after his first win at the Sao Paulo Brazil Open in 2001.

Since turning 50 in 2025, he won his first Legends Tour title in his rookie season in Cambodia.
