Returned from the lower ranks of the game to make it through the 2015 Qualifying School Final Stage, taking the tenth card at PGA Catalunya Resort. Had spent the past three seasons playing PGA region events and the Jamega Pro Tour after he lost his card at the end of 2012. Used his Qualifying School experience to good effect in Spain, having won the six-round event four years earlier in 2011. That was after he finished 139th in the Race to Dubai, having been unable to pull off the last-minute escapes of the previous two seasons. In 2010 was languishing in 141st place but a tied sixth place finish at the Portugal Masters in October earned him enough to finish 114th. The year before he had a top ten finish at the UBS Hong Kong Open to move from 115th to 107th with the final throw of the dice. Secured a maiden victory at the 2008 SAINT-OMER OPEN presented by Neuflize OBC, a victory which was the 200th by a former Challenge Tour player since its inception 20 years earlier. Started playing at the age of 12 at Enmore Park Golf Club and inspired in his early years by Sir Nick Faldo. Amateur highlights included playing for England, winning the Lytham Trophy and the South African Amateur Open Championship and claiming the Silver Medal as leading amateur in the Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes in 2001, finishing tied 30th. He turned professional immediately after that performance.
