The winner of the Jersey Seniors Open in 1999 is now a highly successful golf course architect and for the last few seasons has had to cut back on his playing commitments to accommodate his business interests. Missed the whole of the 2001 season after breaking his collar bone while on a trip to Las Vegas. Turned 50 in 1997 after a successful career during which he amassed 13 tournament victories including three in the British Club Professionals Championship and one at the 1989 ‘555’ Kenya Open. He is a veteran of nine PGA Cup Matches, eight as a player and one as Captain, against America winning eight and halving four of his 24 matches. He captained the side in 1982 and in early 2003 led the Great Britain and Ireland team once more at the postponed 2002 match. His best performance on The European Tour came when he finished in a share of third place behind Sam Torrance at the 1981 Carrolls Irish Open at Portmarnock. Is a member of The European Tour Board of Directors.
