Tournament Format

Date: Thursday 11 July - Sunday 14 July 2024

Field: 156 Players

Format: The tournament will be a 72-hole stroke play event. The field will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 65 players (and those who tie for 65th place) will go forward to the third and fourth rounds. In the event of a tie for the first place there will be a hole-by-hole play-off.

Prize Presentation: The Prize Presentation will be held on the 18th green upon the conclusion of play (approximately 19:40) on Sunday 14 July.

Event Information

All information is digital and is available through the Official DP World App, the DP World Tour website and it is available to download onsite free of charge by scanning the QR codes which will be located around the venue. The official app is where you will find all the tournament information and updates, including live scores, tee times, player locator, interactive course map, catering locations, full event schedule and entertainment.

Contactless Payments

There will be no ATM’s onsite. This is a cashless event. Contactless payments accepted.

Ticket FAQs

Bag Search

There will be a 100% bag search in operation at the entrance to the venue. We will also have sniffer dogs.

Welcome Tent

The Welcome Tent is the main entrance to the Championship. Beside the Welcome Tent there will be the following facilities:

Spectator's Etiquette

Remain still for each shot and do not move until all the Players in the group have played or holed out. 

Kneel or sit down if you are in the front row. Consider other spectators when using an umbrella. 

Do not speak to the players while they are on the course.

Please keep behind the ropes and barriers on the course and use the official crossing points. 

Walk, don’t run, and obey the course marshals – they are trying to make your day more enjoyable. 

There is no dress code in public areas. 

Dress accordingly for the weather conditions. Sensible shoes should be worn. No metal spikes allowed.

Due to social distancing, spectators are prohibited from asking for player autographs. 

Please listen to any public address announcements and follow instructions from officials and volunteers should they be necessary.

The Course

Spectators can move freely around the golf course but please stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points, which are clearly marked by signposts and manned by course Marshals, should be used when crossing fairways. The Player Locator and Interactive Map will be available to use during event week on-site.

Evacuation Procedure

If it is necessary to evacuate the site, please follow the instructions of the course marshals, volunteers and event officials in an orderly fashion.

Official Pro-Am

The Genesis Scottish Open Pro-Am takes place on Wednesday 10 July. Spectators will have a front row view of their favourite golfers. Click here to purchase tickets.

Practice

The practice days prior to the event days are not open to the public. The event is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday.

Marshals

Chief Marshal John Hall and team will be managing the Genesis Scottish Open volunteer programme. The Marshals are extremely influential in helping to ensure that play runs smoothly. The purpose of a Marshal is to ensure that the competitors are able to compete under the best conditions. Many of the marshals have volunteered at a number of other golf events across the country and have a good understanding of the appropriate golfing etiquette.

Championship Village

The Championship Village is where it’s all happening off the golf course and where you will find plenty of seating to relax. There will also be a Giant TV screen so there is no need to miss any of the golf. There will be fun activities for the whole family, retail units and food and drink outlets ensuring that the golf course is not the only place where the action is happening.

A wide range of Official 2024 Genesis Scottish Open Event and DP World Tour merchandise is on sale at the Official Merchandise Shop in the Championship Village. Official European Tour Merchandise can be found here online too.

Information Centre

The Information Centre is located at the 6th green catering area.

Water Stations

We encourage you to bring your own reusable bottles as there will be a water station within the Championship Village and on the course.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No picnics / picnic hampers to be brought into the venue. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted to be brought into the venue. We do allow a small packed and soft drink in a small backpack. 

However, there are many Public Catering & On-Course Catering offerings. These public catering areas will be serving a variety of food and drink located:

Catering at the 4th Green 
Catering at the 6th Hole 
Catering at the 15th Tee 
Catering at the 17th Hole 

Catering outlets may change depending on availability.

On-Course Toilet Facilities

There are public toilet facilities available in the following areas:

Championship Village
6th Hole
14th Green 
17th Green 

Accessible toilets are also in these areas.

Baby changing facilities are located within the accessible toilets in the above locations.

NO SMOKING in the grandstands or viewing platforms. Alcohol will be permitted on the grandstands at this event. Spectators are kindly asked not to stand up on the stands during play. Dedicated viewing areas will be positioned on holes 6th tee side, 12th/14th Green, 17th Green and 18 for those with mobility issues. 

Additional seating will be located in the Championship Village surrounding the food outlets, big screen, and exhibitions and at the 6th hole catering area.

Electronic leaderboards/big screens will be located in the following areas:

Inclement Weather

Observe the leaderboards and big screens throughout the golf course for weather warning signs that will appear prior to inclement weather moving into the area. Spectators are advised to take precautions PRIOR to play being suspended. If the siren sounds, seek shelter immediately, avoiding the following: 

Open areas
Hilltops or high places 
Isolated trees 
Golf buggies 
Wire fences

Clothing & What to Wear

It would be recommended to wear casual golf wear. The ground is uneven and particularly under wet conditions the ground may become slippery therefore appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury. Please check the weather forecast before you set off on your journey. 

Please note: Blue denim Jeans are not permitted in the Clubhouse or 18th Green Hospitality Pavilion.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not permitted in any structure, including grandstands, outdoor balconies & viewing platforms.

Wi-Fi & Phone Charging

Yes, there is no password for the #ETG-Public-Hotspot. The user will need to enter their name, email address, and accept the terms and conditions to onboard onto the network. ‘WIFI Coverage will extend to the following areas: Championship Village, Hospitality and Operational Areas, 6th, 17th & 18th. 

Please note; There will be no Phone charging stations. Remember to bring a portable phone power bank/charger.

The use of Mobile Phones & Cameras

The use of mobile phones is permitted but restricted to dedicated areas only, where event signage will refer to them as “mobile phone zones”. Only in these dedicated areas can calls be made or received, however phones must remain on silent at all times. 

The use of any cameras, computers and other electronic equipment at the Tournament Thursday to Sunday is not permitted other than with the proper accreditation. Cameras are allowed during the Pro Am on Wednesday. 

Making or distributing broadcasts, commentary, news reports, data, results or statistics by any means in any format or media including any such by mobile phone or other wireless device is not permitted.

Cameras are permitted ONLY on Pro Am Day – Wednesday. Cameras are NOT permitted on Tournament Days – Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Although mobile phones are permitted on all five days of the event, the use of the camera facility is as per the above.

There will be dedicated disabled spaces on site for spectators whose vehicles display a blue badge. Wheelchair users will need to contact Ticketing@europeantourgroup.com in order to make arrangements in advance and gain admission to site. 

*Are wheelchairs allowed on site at the Championship? *

Wheelchairs and other motorised chairs are allowed on the tournament grounds should you like to bring them. Golf carts and other motorised vehicles will not permitted during the tournament week.  

Accessible toilet facilities are located at the public catering areas in the Championship Village. 6th hole, 14th Green, and 17th Green.

Is there a Public Creche?

There will not be a public crèche at this venue. There is a baby changing facility within the disabled toilet at the public catering area by the Championship Village area and 6th hole catering area.

Can I bring a child's buggy/pushchair?

Yes, you can. However, please be aware of uneven terrain. Children should always be accompanied by an adult. The ground is uneven and particularly under wet conditions the ground may become slippery therefore appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury.

Are dogs permitted to the course?

Dogs are not permitted on the course with the exception of trained assistance guide dogs, and we respectfully suggest that you do not leave your pet in the car. Familiarise yourself with the location of First Aid stations and refreshment areas. On entry to the venue look for map board, this will help you find exits, key facilities and provide other key information. You can also use the interactive map which will be available on-site during event week.

Medical First Aid

Full medical and first aid facility is located at the entrance to the venue. There will also be mobile first aid units. Should you require medical assistance whilst out on course, please ask a marshal or event official who can radio for assistance.

Lost Property & Left Luggage

Lost property that has been found can be handed in to the nearest marshal, volunteer or event official. All items will be delivered to Police Scotland onsite, further information on this will be at the Championship Office, located on the green in front of the Clubhouse. 

There will not be a left luggage facility at this tournament.

Can I bring a bag/rucksack to the event?

Small bags and rucksacks are permitted at the Championship. For your safety, security bag searches may be in operation on entry.

Bicycles

Bicycle parking will be available at the front of the Public Park and Ride. Bicycles are left at your own risk. Please provide your own lock.
