Amgen to sponsor the Amgen Irish Open

The 2024 Amgen Irish Open, part of the DP World Tour, will take place at the Royal County Down Golf Club in Northern Ireland from Sept. 11-15, 2024. Amgen will also become a partner to the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.

Pádraig Harrington, Shane Lowry, Seamus Power and Brendan Lawlor will become Amgen ambassadors, wearing the Amgen logo while in competition.

“Sponsorship of the Amgen Irish Open marks an important milestone in Amgen’s 25-year history in Ireland, and today’s announcement further demonstrates our commitment to positively impact the communities in which we live and work,” said Robert A. Bradway, chairman and chief executive officer of Amgen. “We are proud to sponsor the Amgen Irish Open, recognising golf is one of the world’s most popular sports, a key driver of the Irish economy and a source of great national pride.”

Guy Kinnings, Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer at the European Tour group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Amgen as the Title Partner of the Irish Open and are thrilled to see their continued commitment to the event after two very successful editions in partnership with Horizon Therapeutics.

“I must thank former Horizon Chairman, Tim Walbert for his dedication to the event over the past two years, and we now look forward to working with Bob Bradway and his team at Amgen in further developing the island of Ireland’s national open as it continues to prove itself as one of the world’s leading golf tournaments for players and fans alike.”
