Angel Cabrera Wins US Open Championship to Climb to World Number 17

Angel Cabrera shot a final round of 69 at Oakmont Country Club to hold off the challenges of World Number One Tiger Woods and World Number Three Jim Furyk, to win the US Open by a stroke. He becomes the first Argentine winner of a Major Championship for forty years and this win takes him to World Number 17 an improvement of 24 positions. With their tie for second place Woods extends his lead over Phil Mickelson at the top of the Official World Golf Ranking while Jim Furyk closes in on the left hander and the World Number Two position.

In a Dual Ranking Event on the European Tour and Challenge Tour Carl Sunesson won the OPEN DE SAINT-OMER presented by NEUFLIZE OBC 2007 by three strokes from Peter Fowler, Marcus Higley and Francois Calmels. Sunesson climbs to World Number 339 a jump of 307 places.

2004 USA Ryder Cup player Chris Riley won the Rochester Area Charities Showdown at Somerby presented by Think on the Nationwide Tour. Riley improves his Official World Golf Ranking by 161 positions to 251st.

Spencer Levin won the Times Colonist Open on the Canadian Tour and moves to World Number 343, up 118 places.
