BMW International Open - day three digest

Brown's brilliant final stretch, genius from Katsuragawa and Siem's shines for Munich support.

Everything you need to know from Moving Day at Golfclub München Eichenried.

Brown's brilliance sends him to the top

Dan Brown shot up to the summit thanks to a stunning 65 to earn a one shot lead in Munich. A magnificent eagle eagle two at the par-four 16th saw him join fellow Englishman Jordan Smith at 15 under, but when his rival parred his way home, Brown birdied the last to move ahead on his own. “I didn’t feel like I was under any pressure all day. I felt pretty relaxed and having a laugh and joke with my caddie, and then I said to him on the 18th green, ‘this is for a 29’, and then I left it (eagle putt) short… I’ve not really thought about it (winning the tournament), trying not to get upset. Something happened last week at home, win or lose tomorrow… I’m not sure to be honest. I’ve not really thought about it."

Siem sparkles with eagle

Marcel Siem slipped out of contention on his home course, but he delighted the Bavarian crowd with this brilliant eagle at the par-four 16th. This was only one of three eagles on the hole.

Genius from Katsuragawa

Yuto Katsuragawa started the day three shots behind overnight leader Davis Bryant, but slipped down the leaderboard following a shaky front nine, although he finished that in style with his majestic bunker shot.

Wu wows with rare birdie

Ashun Wu showed off his expertise with this cool birdie putt at the par-three 17th, only the second to be recorded on this hole all day. Frederic Lacroix deserves a special mention for his two as well.

Near miss for Neergaard-Petersen

Dane Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen had this huge eagle putt and somehow nearly drained it. Fantastic effort!
