Joost Luiten was delighted to see his aggressive play get rewarded on Moving Day as he targets victory at the BMW International Open.
The Dutchman has six DP World Tour titles to his name, however, he has not been in the winner's enclosure since his victory at the 2018 NBO Oman Open.
He improved his chances of adding a seventh crown following a brilliant 65 - the joint lowest of the day alongside leader Dan Brown and Spain's Ivan Cantero - to sit three shots adrift of the Englishman in solo third at 13 under.
Luiten led by three shots after 54 holes at Golfclub München Eichenried in 2023 but came up short with a second placed finish, something he is keen to rectify this time around.
"I knew I needed a good one to get to the leaders and have a chance on Sunday, so that was the plan, to go low and catch up with the boys " Luiten said.
"It was nice to have a good front nine, shooting four under on the front nine, and I thought if I could sneak in a couple more then we'd be in a good position. So it was definitely the plan to be aggressive today.
"Yeah I saw that when I birdied 11 that I joined the lead and I didn't really try to think about it, I just wanted to make as many birdies as I could because I was playing well.
"Conditions were playing pretty easy today so I felt I just needed to create some chances, unfortunately the three-putt at 15 was a bit annoying, but I hit some really good shots coming down the stretch and I'm in a really good position, so I need to do the same tomorrow.
"It means a lot (to win this tournament), but it's the same for every guy. I don't really try to think about it. I just want to go out there tomorrow and shoot a low score, and hopefully I can get it done this time.
"I know the position I'm in, it's a familiar position, I just have to do it one better than last time I was in that position.
"I'm just going out and be aggressive and shoot a score, and then we will see. You can't control the other guys so all I can do is control myself and that's what I'll focus on."
