This week the DP World Tour heads to glorious Le Golf National, scene of Europe's 2018 Ryder Cup triumph, for the Cazoo Open de France.

Continental Europe's oldest national open returns for its 104th edition, with defending champion Nicolas Colsaerts, fellow Belgian Thomas Pieters, home hero Victor Perez and last week's winner Robert MacIntyre all in action.

If you have not done so already, you can sign up now to the official Fantasy game of the DP World Tour and submit your six-man team before round one on Thursday as the ‘September Challenge’, providing fans the opportunity to win some great prizes, continues: https://fantasy.dpworldtour.com.

Favourite - Thomas Pieters

Thomas Pieters

The big-hitting Belgian is on course for a career-best year after winning his first Rolex Series title in the opening event of 2022 in Abu Dhabi. Since then he has missed just one cut on the DP World Tour at the Masters Tournament, claiming four top tens along the way. He also has a fine record on the outskirts of Paris, with four top 30s from six appearances at this event. With Ryder Cup selection now well under way, Pieters will be determined to have another good week.

Form horse - Ewen Ferguson

After a well-deserved week off from tournament golf - and this column - the flying Scotsman returns looking to continue his excellent 2022. The early part of the season was a case of feast or famine for Ferguson, as he claimed a maiden win in Qatar but only one other top 20 before August. After finishing 12th and the Cazoo Open supported by Gareth Bale his recent record reads: win-missed cut-second-missed cut. If that pattern continues, a good week is in store.

Wild card - Marcus Kinhult

Marcus Kinhult

The Swede is fighting his way back to form after his epilepsy diagnosis in 2021 and two top tens in his first ten events of the 2022 season showed glimpses of his unquestionable talent. His form has dipped a little since the summer but he proved he has courses that suit him well as he finished third at the Cazoo Classic at Hillside Golf Club, venue for his win at the 2019 Betfred British Masters. A tie for fifth and a tie for 11th in two appearances at Le Golf National bode well for this week.
